Another year had passed upon the gentle surface of planet Namek, the many people who called her home had gone undisturbed by external threat in such time; even as rumors reached the green world of events taking place upon Earth a year prior. A demon had rampaged during their worlds most beloved martial arts gathering, many had died as heroes gathered to stop her. Perhaps the most unsettling thing to rise from the rumors was word that a warrior had risen during that battle, a Saiyan with power born of rage, born of legend, born of the unknown.
Yet with all the rumor and chaos spreading word of mouth through the cosmos great Namek continued on in relative peace. So peaceful was Namek in fact that the time had come again for one of it's most favored contests of skill to draw in challengers planet wide once more. The port city of Katas Harbor once again opened itself up to determine the number one golf champion on Namek and competitors flocked from the farthest corners and the deepest caverns to attend! One such challenger walked the grass roads of Katas even now as he made way for the harbor course.
Jhelks wore his traditional white top and black bottom robes this year, slung over his back the Namekian warrior carried his tear drop shaped shield. The warrior had learned to wield the weapon very effectively in the past year through training and raids upon surface encampments, and he was pleased to find that he now found the items weight quite comforting upon his form. Aside from his shield Jhelks carried a large pack of special design. Called a golf bag by the humans, this red bag contained an assortment of clubs, tees, and balls. The large pack was awkward as hell to carry, but Jhelks could easily support the weight and the Namekian had learned during last years competition that all the serious contenders possessed one.
Finally turning off the grass street into the harbor Jhelks once again came to see the stunning sight that was the Katas course. Eighteen holes of man-made floating islands that rested upon the sparkling green ocean. This year the turf had been replaced with blue grass to better mimic Namek's own vegetation. All around the harbor Jhelks could see various Namekians, humans, and even a few others going through their equipment in preparation for the days events.
So pleased was Jhelks to once again attend the Katas open that he actually smiled as he moved into a line to sign up for participation.

“Yeehaw!” Gastro bellowed, hands on hips hips, a huge grin spread across his face. Hikaru leaned just a smidge away from him and the volume of his shout. She straightened a moment later and wrinkled her brow in the Hikaru equivalent of a quizzical look. “Well, golf is a human game! And that's a thing humans say!” Gastro explained. Hikaru gave him the tiniest of frowns. That seemed utterly ridiculous but she didn’t know enough of her own culture to argue. So she turned away from him and cast her gaze out at the floating golf course. She hadn’t joined Gastro for last year’s tournament. It had been short notice at the time and she had previous obligations. But this year Gastro had made sure she had plenty of time to block off the date. “C’mon! We can sign up over there,” he clapped his huge hand down on Hikaru’s shoulder, nearly covering her entire shoulder with his palm. Hikaru craned her head to look up at the giant of a Namekian, “..............we?” Gastro smiled sweetly at her, “Why do you think I taught you how to play and have been practicing with you the past few months?” If possible, Hikaru’s flat expression flattened even further. Gastro let out a bellow of a laugh and dragged her over to the sign in line.

Standing in line behind a pair of bickering Zoans, or whatever the animal-people of Earth were called, Jhelks stared off into the floating course recalling last years tournament. A year prior the warrior had competed for the first time in an official manner, true he had hid his nature as being one with the Dark Clan but other than that hidden fact Jhelks had been fully honest in his admission forms. The warrior had used his true name even! Something that Jhelks rarely did when he was forced to deal with his surface dwelling brethren.
As Jhelks slowly scanned the blue turf his eyes locked onto hole twelve, the hole which had eliminated him from the competition last year. Twelve was one of the longer island courses but the challenge of the hole came not in length, instead twelve was a danger to golfers due to its low par and expansive desert trap. Jhelks remembered that the year prior he had sunk deep into the sand trap, than when trying to free his ball he had accidentally sent himself flying into the green waters of the sea.
The warrior was determined to advance at least passed hole twelve this tournament, it was his own personal goal towards self improvement. Of course the warrior would love to win outright, but golf was a entirely different dynamic than combat and simply being the strongest or fastest wasn't good enough. Jhelks was pulled from his private thoughts as a voice from behind him shouted wildly! Turning to glance over his shoulder the Namekian easily managed to pick out one of his towering brethren, who seemed in conversation with a human woman.
His bellow had been one of excitement, despite the somewhat sour features of the human girl. Jhelks snickered to himself as the large Namekian practically dragged the human into the sign-up line behind him, making it much easier for Jhelks to over hear their conversation. Normally Jhelks would have left them to their own devices, but the Katas tournament was one of the few times a year Jhelks got to hold normal conversation with surface dwellers which would not lead to conflict. So the warrior surprised even himself by turning to greet the pair as they slide into line behind him.
"Greetings friends. I take it you are joining the companions course this season?" Jhelks asked with a small grin as he looked from giant Namekian to the human woman whom he was much closer to in height.

Gastro beamed as the Namekian ahead of them turned to speak to them. Gastro was a friendly fellow to say the least, what some would call a “social butterfly”. “Yes! I enjoy participating regularly, but this here is Hikaru’s first time in the competition,” Gastro smiled fondly at the woman who stood at his side. Hikaru gave a nod of greeting to the Namekian that had spoken to them. She was the wall flower to Gastro’s social butterfly. Hikaru could sense the thrum of power coming from this warrior. He was a powerful warrior, double her weighted power level… Even if she couldn’t read his power level it was still obvious in the way he stood. The way he held himself. This was a season warrior. The shield he carried was also a big give away of course. Gastro, however, was not a warrior. He couldn’t sense the man’s ki, or the power in his stance. If he noted the shield, it was only in passing. No, for Gastro it was all about this friendly competition. An event he look forward to all year. Gastro extended his gargantuan hand in greeting, “My name is Gastro, brother. What is yours?”

"Jhelks, the pleasure is mine." the warrior replied as he reached out and took the large fellow Gastro's hand in a hearty shake. The large Namekian had imparted much information in a short period of time, more than enough for Jhelks to pegged his surface fairing brother as a bit naive. In the dark caverns of Jhelks part of Namek such traits could be easily taken advantage of, so Jhelks considered it lucky for Gastro that the large Namekian was born to the more peaceful side of their shared race. While the pair shook hands Jhelks had also been feeling out the pairs energy, and was surprised by what he discovered.
Gastro possessed a very minor level of power, his large size made him stronger than your standard farmer to be sure but he was surely no threat. More interesting however was the human woman, she stood quietly and offered him only a nod in greeting. Jhelks could easily feel the energy this quite human put off and though she was clearly a quiet one, she possessed power just under half of Jhelks own. "Her first competition? If the human legend of beginners luck holds true than lady Hikaru here will beat us all this year." Jhelks said with a laugh as he released Gastro's beefy hand and turned to look the woman over.
Hikaru was actually close to Jhelks in height, her blue hair haphazardly cut into spiky tufts. Certain traits immediately stood out to Jhelks about the human, traits he recognized from his own background as a PTO slave, than soldier. Dressed in some form of weighted clothes which clung loosely to her body, Hikaru sported several scars that were visible on a casual glance. She also stood ramrod straight, something drilled into soldiers from any organization. Jhelks had no idea which military the woman hailed from or how she had garnered so many scars that hid at the corners of her clothes, but in the end Jhelks didn't call attention to any of those details.
Instead the Namekian simply smiled and held out his hand in offered greeting. "Miss Hikaru, I am pleased to meet you as well. It is good to be among like people." Jhelks said hoping the woman would accept his greeting. His words hinted at her obvious warrior nature, without directly calling attention to her.
"Well unlike you pair I was not fortunate enough to bring companionship. I would be overjoyed to have you accompany me along the course?" Jhelks asked as the line before him grew smaller and smaller to the sign up station. The dark warrior planned to enjoy this rare day among the surface without violence, and felt having company would only heighten the experience.

Gastro beamed brightly at Jhelks when he gave his name. He was glad to make a new acquaintance. Things might have been different if he knew the true nature of Jhelks’s clan, but in this moment they were just two brother Namekians here to enjoy a friendly competition. He was oblivious and trusting. He couldn’t even begin to imagine that Jhelks could possibly be of the Dark Clan. Members of the Dark Clan were aggressive barbarians attacking innocents weren’t they? Nothing like this polite brother before him, surely. Hikaru was naive too, in her own way. But she at least was a little more observant than Gastro. She saw the strength in Jhelks’s bearing alone, much less his power level. He had discipline beyond the average Namekian warrior. But she had no immediate inclination to peg him as an enemy. Merely a powerful new acquaintance of note. When Jhelks commented on ‘beginner’s luck’ Hikaru gave a small shrug of her shoulders. She doubted she would do well. Not because of any sense of modesty or low confidence, but because in her time practicing with her giant friend she felt she had no particular talent for it. She could imitate Gastro’s form and the motions of striking the ball. But she lacked the nuance of control and the strategy of it all eluded her. With Gastro’s advice she was a fairly decent shot, but left to her own devices she was subpar at best. But it made Gastro happy to have someone else to play with besides his partner, so Hikaru obliged him. Hikaru took Jhelks’s hand in a firm shake of her own and cocked her head at his words. She didn’t quite catch his meaning. She assumed he was referencing how they were both warriors. Afterall that seemed to be the only thing they had in common at first glance. “Well, sure,” Gastro nodded enthusiastically when Jhelks asked them to join him for the competition, “The more the merrier! I was lucky Hikaru agreed to join me, my partner, Pado, he couldn’t come today. I’d love to have another friend along for the ride. Right, Hikaru?” Gastro gave Hikaru soft jab with his elbow and she gave a hum of assent. Gastro seemed to have made it a personal mission to expand Hikaru’s social circle and manners. Not only was he glad to make a new friend for himself, but he hoped that Jhelks and Hikaru might hit it off as well. Sure, maybe he was being pushy but it was for Hikaru’s own good.

The massive surface Namekian and human woman were certainly an odd pairing, one jovial in the extreme. The other much more shy and restricted. Under Namek's bright surface Jhelks knew a wealth of individuals with varied personality. Yet in the darkness of the tunnels power and skill meant everything. A boastful man best have the power to back his words, a quiet man spoke volumes about how dangerous they were. Jhelks found the differences quite interesting, perhaps even worthy of further study at a later time. After all the one time saboteur possessed a knack for integrating with others, and Jhelks was determined to pass for a one of his surface brethren more often.
The woman Hikaru mostly shrugged at Jhelks's words, but she took his hand in greeting. A firm shake was good enough for Jhelks though, perhaps she would open up to him with time? Perhaps not? Luckily Gastro prevent the scenario from growing weird by happily agreeing to join Jhelks during the tournament. In a booming voice the giant Namekian commented on the lack of his partner Pado, while attempting to stealthily elbow Hikaru into joining in the conversation. Jhelks could only grin at the somewhat comical display.
"I can understand brother. My own greatest friend is too old to make the trip to Katas, so I was forced to leave the elder behind." Jhelks explained as he turned and guided his new companions to the sign in station. Jhelks's own words surprised him as he had never pictured the 'Temple Elder' as his friend, he didn't even know the man's name! Yet even as the words left his mouth Jhelks knew them to be true. The Elder was the only person in Slug Town that Jhelks truly trusted.
Reaching the sign in station a young Namekian sat upon a stool with a complex looking Red Ribbon computer pad held aloft in his hands. The youth was quick to record their names and assign competition numbers and starting holes. Jhelks was competitor 'two hundred and twenty four' a much higher number than the year prior. Luckily the three were all assigned to start with hole number six of eighteen, if Jhelks remembered right hole six was cursed by a steep slope that dropped balls into the water if they landed passed the 'blue.'
Turning towards Gastro and Hikaru the warrior turned golfer pointed to the island containing hole six. "Would you care to fly? Or would you like to walk the floating run?" Jhelks asked pointing towards a floating walkway that lead towards the island. The walk would of course be the slower option, but Jhelks honestly knew not if Gastro could fly.

Gastro continued chatting amicably while providing his and Hikaru’s information for registry and taking their own numbers, “An elder, huh? I’m ashamed to say I sometimes forget that the elders are brothers too. It just feels as though they’re old and wise, so they aren’t meant for things like the championship or other such social events…” Gastro straightened up and rubbed his cleft chin thoughtfully, “I should make sure to remember that. Thank you, Jhelks.” “Mollau is an elder… and he is my best friend,” Hikaru spoke quietly from Gastro’s elbow. To which the large Namekian let out an insulted harrumph. “Oh! I see how it is!” Gastro crossed his arms dramatically, “Mollau is your best friend!” Hikaru blinked at Gastro nonplussed, “Yes?” “Do you hear this Jhelks? I’ve been snubbed,” Gastro turned to the smaller Namekian, bringing him into his little theatrical game, “Isn’t she terrible? I’m sure she’d rather just fly off to the hole, and leave me behind. You’ll stay with me, won’t you?” Hikaru’s brow creased ever so slightly, truly not following Gastro’s little game, “I could carry you to the hole if you want to fly…?” “Pfft!” Gastro couldn’t keep a straight face any longer. Hikaru was missing his point entirely, and the idea of her carrying him was just too funny (even though she could easily), “Never mind, Hikaru. I am teasing you!” He ruffled the soft blue tufts of her hair, something he rather enjoyed doing, “Let’s walk Jhelks. It's a lovely day and I never mastered flying.” Gastro pocketed his hands in his brown smock, taking long strides to the floating runway. Hikaru felt utterly confused. The big Namekian had that effect on her. He enjoyed sweeping her up in his pace and jovial nature. She didn’t mind it, however, in fact… she might even like it just a bit. Hikaru looked towards Jhelks and gave him a small shrug as if to say, ‘I guess we’re walking?’ Before she followed after Gastro. Along the way Gastro kept up a majority of the conversation, occasionally prompting Hikaru to join in until they actually reached the hole. At which point Gastro asked Hikaru to go and get some of their supplies, since he and she hadn’t brought their own balls or tees. As soon as she wandered off Gastro's exuberance and energetic nature grew soft, and then he spoke more quietly. “I apologize for being so overbearing, Jhelks,” he nodded towards Hikaru, “That girl left to her own devices would never go out and socialize. She’s never really known friendship.” It seemed his loud and boisterous nature was just partly for show, “Thank you for joining us today. I appreciate your company. I hope that we can all get along…” Gastro gave Jhelks another soft nod before returning to his broad grin, wide stance, and hands on his hips. He roared out in a playful tone for Hikaru to hurry it up. To which the human began jogging back at a light pace to oblige him.

Gastro was living up to the universal perception of the modern Namekian in nearly every manner that Jhelks could think of. He was giant in height, friendly as they came, talked an earful, and judging from his friendship with the human Hikaru was extremely accepting of new faces on Namek. From the professional standpoint of a saboteur Jhelks found the big Namekian fascinating. Gastro was practically the perfect person to emulate when one wanted to appear as a genuinely good soul. The warrior Namekian wished he had known the giant man years ago when he first underwent training, oh how the integration process would have been a breeze after a weekend beside Gastro!
The dark clan Namekian watched as Gastro did all the clerk work for Hikaru and himself, than paused to rub his only oddity; the cleft chin. "Of course brother. We must never forget the elders, after all we will be the elders one day." Jhelks replied calmly, not expecting his remarks about the temple elder to have such an impact upon his new companions.
Quiet Hikaru spoke up than, her reveal of another elder being her best friend was most interesting to Jhelks. What kind of connection could a human woman have with a Namekian Elder after all? Jhelks could ask no follow up questions however as Gastro went into a mockery of feigned wounding by the human woman's admission. The spectacle was actually rather humorous in that Hikaru genuinely did not seem able to spot that Gastro was having fun with her. Jhelks chuckled along beside Gastro as the show came to its end with Gastro rubbing the top of Hikaru's head and suggested that the trio walked the floating path. "Too bad, I had hoped to see her carry you." Jhelks said as they all began to walk to hole six.
Gastro's massive stride quickly propelled him away, and Hikaru offered a sympathetic shrug before she two started off. Jhelks kept pace beside the human, staying just to her right as Gastro gained a bit of distance on them. "He cares for you greatly you know. You must have impacted his life for the better." Jhelks said in a low voice to Hikaru as he patted the woman on the shoulder. The warrior did not wait for a reply however, instead he merely waved his hand forward suggesting they should catch up to Gastro, who was even now talking over his shoulders at the pair.
The suspended water bridge did not bow or creak as the trio walked over it. Instead the sturdy passageway simply swayed ever so slightly with the tide of the bay. The cool stone face of the bridge ran like a serpent around man made isles of blue turf and even continued onward when they reached their destination of hole six. Hole or isle six was a stretch of rolling mossy hills seventy meters in length and thirty meters wide. The flag indicating the hole was placed less than four meters from the platforms far edge, meaning to powerful a hit would over shoot the hole.
As the trio arrived Gastro sent Hikaru off to gather supplies while Jhelks began to go through the belongings in his golf bag. Jhelks was pulling his 'woods driver' from his bag as a much softer and toned down Gastro approached him. The giant of a Namekian explained his actions to this point, only making Jhelks nod in understanding. "No worries friend, though I must disagree with you." Jhelks replied as he continued to remove a tee and ball from his bag. "She clearly knows friendship in her life, she has you." Jhelks pointed out, for in the short time Jhelks had met Gastro he had seen perhaps the kindest Namekian of his lifetime.
"I am glad for your company though. Hikaru's as well, she is most interesting." Jhelks finished as he set his tee and began a few practice strokes with his driver to loosen up his body. With that Gastro returned to his prior mannerisms as Hikaru jogged back with gear for the pair. Waiting for the Namekian and human to get themselves prepared Jhelks figured he might as well have first swing since he was already set up.
Squaring himself off beside his tee'd ball the Namekian rolled his head with an audible crack escaping his neck. Tightening his grip he reared back before slowly returning to form. A quick glance at the course and a deep breath later Jhelks once again reared back his driver, this time completing his swing to send his ball sailing over the rolling hills of the course.
The white orb flew well with only slight curve, to land four meters before the hole, and roughly seven meters to its right.
Grinning at the shot Jhelks turned and stepped out of his companions way as he waited for they turns. "Good luck gentleman and lady." Jhelks replied as he leaned against his driver.

Hikaru was looking at Gastro’s wide back, still wondering a bit at him when Jhelk pulled up besides her and spoke quietly about her having a good impact on Gastro’s life. The human blinked in surprise at her new acquaintance. It was such a surprising and genuine statement, she was caught completely off guard. It was a good thing Jhelks didn’t wait for a reply. She didn’t have one. Hikaru was just left fumbling after the two Namekians. The group pulled up to the floating isle bearing hole 6 and separated briefly while Hikaru fetched supplies for her and Gastro. Gastro privately explained his motivations to Jhelks, and when the man commented on how Gastro was showing Hikaru true friendship, the hug Namekian couldn’t help but beam brightly. He clapped an appreciative hand on Jhelks’s shoulder and gave him a warm little shake. “Thank you, brother,” Gastro stepped back to give Jhelks the room needed to set up his swing and practice, “And I agree, Hikaru is quite interesting. I just can’t leave her alone.” Hikaru returned in time to watch Jhelks’s ball sail beautifully through the air and land relatively close to the hole in his first go. Gastro let out a low impressed whistle. “We’ll need that luck to compete with you!” he guffawed and then set up his tee next. He didn’t do as much warming up as Jhelks. And he paid the price for it, as his strike wasn’t quite strong enough. It landed quite a ways before the hole. But at least he hadn’t over shot it. “Hm,” Hikaru cocked her head at Gastro’s shot. He was usually much better than that. Was it nerves? He most definitely wasn’t the type to throw a match. Well, either way it was her turn. Hikaru spun the golf club in her hand, a quick little twirl, and then stepped up to her mark. She set up her tee and then lined up her shot. The human went down her mental checklist that Gastro had taught her about the proper technique for a strong swing. Then she struck launching the ball through the air. It sailed in a trajectory similar to Jhelks’s shot, and landed with a soft thunk on the blue rolling just past the hole, but not over shooting off the course. Gastro literally jumped in the air, he was so excited for Hikaru’s shot. He had been the one to teach her, so he couldn’t help but be immensely proud. He grabbed Hikaru’s shoulders and shook her excitedly. It looked rather ridiculous with Hikaru just bobbing there with her straight face.

"Thank you friend Gastro, but you'll soon learn I have my faults." Jhelks replied as the large Namekian whistled and commented upon his shot. The small warrior was happy with his first hit however and he beamed as he stepped out of Gastro and Hikaru's way.
Leaning heavily upon his driver Jhelks watched as his new companions went about their preparations before taking their first shots. Gastro was the man Jhelks had pegged as the 'man to beat' of the three, yet when the big guy made his hit he came up short. Whether it was do to a lack of stretching or some other cause Gastro landed deep in the fairway, not a terrible hit to be sure but it also meant the man would have to waste a second shot just to hit the 'blue.' Still hole six was a par four, meaning Gastro could still easily make par and recover throughout the rest of the course.
"Not bad brother, though I think you might want to stretch out those massive shoulder." Jhelks said as he pulled out a small data pad he had received upon signing up. The warrior tally marked each golfer's current number of strokes so far for the hole while Hikaru got ready.
Watching as the human set up her tee and spun her club Hikaru seemed almost playful in that tiny moment. When she stepped up to swing however that brief loosening of the guard tightened up as she took a serious tone. Jhelks studied the woman as she squared her shoulders, arched out her lower back, stuck out her butt, and paced her footing. Hikaru's form was actually very well constructed for golfing, the only two things Jhelks could note needing improvement were minor issues. The woman gripped his club too tightly, something which only mattered for short range shots and puts; she could also stick her butt out farther, as that would help with her reach to the tee based upon her height vs her arm length.
Still such things were minor and there was no better proof of that than when the woman swung her driver. The ball sailed beautifully in a path similar to Jhelks own, similar but better. Hikaru overshot the hole, but not the course itself and Jhelks was certain the human's placement was actually closer than his own. "That was a lovely strike Hikaru." Jhelks said honestly as he tally marked the woman's hit. Gastro even now shaking the human with pride.
"So Gastro hits next, than me than hikaru." Jhelks said as he packed up his things and began to lead the pair down the course to Gastro's ball. Being the furthest from the hole meant Gastro was next in line to shoot. Luckily the gentle hills of the course took little effort to navigate and the trio soon found themselves at Gastro's ball.
"By the way if you notice any issues with my technique please tell me. I'm planning to win one of these years so any improvements would be truly helpful." Jhelks said to make conversation as he and Hikaru awaited Gastro's next hit.

“We’ll see, brother,” Gastro gave a big booming laugh when Jhells warned that he also had his faults, “But I have a feeling you’ll go very far in this tournament. How long have you been playing?” Gastro rubbed his large and cleft chin as he asked the question out of mild curiosity. He had played for quite some time, but only as a hobby. He didn’t compete competitively often. It actually was a bit ambitious of him to enter in the Katas Champion competition, but he still did. Nothing ventured nothing gained, right? Jhelks mentioned that Gastro should stretch his shoulders, and he nodded in agreement. He set about stretching them out. He began with this left arm, spinning it in a windmill circle. As for the human, she watched her ball sail through the air with a critical eye, and then was surprised at it landing so near the hole. She had practiced much with Gastro (at his insistence), but she hadn't developed THAT much skill. Hikaru was about average at best. Maybe there was something behind that ‘beginner’s luck’ afterall… “Hm,” Hikaru hummed in acknowledgement to Jhelks’s comment, and Gastro covertly nudged her foot with his own, a subtle reminder, “Thank you…” The trio made their way through the rolling blue hills floating through the sky peaceably. Gastro hummed jauntily with the golf bag they had rented slung over his massive shoulder as if it were little more than a woman’s handbag. Hikaru herself had kept her club with her instead of returning it to the bag with Gastro. She casually propped it over her shoulder. She just wanted something to carry like the two Namekians. Once at Gastro’s ball, he passed the bag to Hikaru and selected his next club for his shot. He lined up and heard Jhelks’s comment about asking Gastro and Hikaru to correct any mistakes they might spot in his form. “Now why would we help the competition,” Gastro looked over his shoulder at his two friends, very obviously teasing Jhelks. He returned his focus back to the ball and, after a few test swings, swept the ball up with his club and launched it towards the hole that was his goal. This time it seemed Gastro was more true to form the ball landing perfectly on the blue and rolling into a respectable distance from the hole. He pumped his fist in victory! He could definitely land a putt from that point. “It seemed the shoulder stretching help, eh?” He grinned to his friends and then slipped his club back into the golf bag Hikaru held for him.

Jhelks chuckled when Hikaru offered up little more than a breath towards his compliment. Luckily Gastro came to the rescue and nudged the woman into giving a proper thank you. As covert as the interaction had meant to be it failed to escape Jhelks's notice, causing him to laugh all the louder. "Please friend Gastro. Let Hikaru be herself, I would no more force her speak than I would force her be silent." Jhelks said once his laughter had finished, he was trying to show that he did not mind the human's less than expressive personality. "Besides, you know what the saying is about Earthlings. Perhaps she thinks me ugly." Jhelks added with an exaggerated wink at his new friends while they packed up their things.
While the trio walked through the blue grass to the closest ball each member expressed themselves in a way which highlighted them. Gastro hummed as he walked, Hikaru remained ever silent. Jhelks meanwhile discussed what the next few hole designs contained, his love of golf allowed him to completely leave his untrusting Dark Clan nature behind him as he attended the Katas event.
Before long the group reached Gastro's ball and Jhelks watched as the big man passed his bag off to Hikaru and selected a five-iron to take his next shot with. As Gastro joked at Jhelks's expense the warrior scanned the field from the ball to the hole, at this distance Jhelks would require a seven-iron to make the 'blue' yet Gastro seemed ever confident with his selection. While Jhelks wrestled with voicing his concern, Gastro went into a quick series of test swings before driving his club home! The ball soared in a fine arch and landed well within putting range of hole six.
Jhelks couldn't help but whistle at the lovely shot, "Clearly! Had I known I wouldn't have suggested the stretch." Jhelks replied as Gastro snapped his iron back into his and Hikaru's shared bag. "That's good though, no fun if there isn't any challenge." Jhelks said as the three moved up a gentle hill to reach Jhelk's ball one the other side.
Once in place upon the blue Jhelks pulled his favorite putter from his bag and moved over to line up his shot. Nothing lay between the Namekian's ball and the hole and the weather was clear despite a slight breeze passing through now and again. Taking stance to swing the warrior waited until the next breeze came and went before striking his ball. The white sphere rolled in a straight line through the close cut blue grass, gradually slowing as it approached the edge of the hole.
The ball almost came to a stop on the edge of the hole and a long tense moment lingered before the ball fell with a clatter into the plastic lined hole. "Well par two for me." Jhelks said with just a hint of boasting in his voice. as he walked over and pulled his ball out to make way for Hikaru and Gastro's next shots.

“It’s good of you to not force her, but SOME one needs to teach her manners. You’d think she was raised by beasts,” Gastro grunted, but he was grinning still and affectionately rumpling Hikaru’s mop of hair aggressively. Hikaru closed one eye and was pushed a little bit to the side by the strength of Gastro’s affectionate gesture. She hardly seemed to mind, taking the big man’s enthusiasm in the same stride as she had been this whole adventure. What she didn’t take in stride, however, was Jhelks comment on how she might think he was ugly, “No, I don’t.” There was actually a touch of dismay in her tone. Just the barest amount, but considering how flat Hikaru usually was, it was still unexpected. The motley crew assembled next at Jhelks’s ball, Hikaru standing aside quietly, while Gastro took a wide stance, hands on hips. He chortled at Jhelks’s comment about it not being fun without a challenge, but otherwise remained silent. He didn’t wish to interrupt anyone’s concentration while they took their turn. It was just rude, and he’d be a hypocrite after trying to teach Hikaru manners! The smaller Namekian’s putt was so smooth, however, that Gastro doubted that even if he had been banging pots and pans he would have distracted Jhelks! He clapped happily as Jhelks fetched his ball, “Bravo!” The big Namekian selected a suitable putter for Hikaru, she still didn’t have a very good sense for which clubs to use in which situations, then he stepped back besides Jhelks to let her focus completely on her shot. She was going to need all the focus she could muster. Gastro leaned his huge body down towards Jhelks so that he could whisper covertly. “Putting is Hikaru’s weakness. She has an excellent drive, but her blue game is terrible,” he wasn’t bad mouthing Hikaru merely explaining. Hikaru had the strength and good judgement for some excellent shots. But she seemed to not grasp the nuances and control of putting. If anything she actually would put too much power behind her strikes and often over shoot the hole. It was one of the few time Gastro actually got to see Hikaru visibly frustrated… and it was more than just a little bit hilarious. Hikaru stepped up to her golf ball and took a few practice swings. Her grip too tight, the swings too tall. No matter how many times Gastro told her to be gentle she just never seemed to have a proper sense of strength. And over shooting just felt less frustrating than under shooting. It was like the ball was mocking her when it rolled up short. With a firm swing Hikaru clipped the ball towards the hole where it swept right passed it and arced to the left. At least the ball did end up closer to the hold than farther away. Hikaru would take it. She straightened and looked back at Jhelks and Gastro. The larger man had one of his hands fisted over his mouth, as if he were pondering something or focusing intently. Hikaru knew he was just trying to covertly hide his amused smile at her poor shot. “That's alright, you’ll get it on the next shot. We can’t all par 2 like Jhelks here,” Gastro gave Hikaru a big thumbs up as she replaced her club. Hikaru deigned not to give him an answer, whether because she had nothing to say, or was pointedly ignoring him was difficult to discern… Gastro grabbed a putter for himself this time and left the bag in Hikaru’s custody. He made broad steps towards his own ball, obviously confident. He hardly had to test his swing before he just tapped the ball in a smooth arc to the hole where it clinked unceremoniously home. Gastro turned around, and gave a bow, “Par 2.” “We can’t all have a Par 2 like Jhelks, here,” Hikaru quoted Gastro’s earlier comment not even 5 minutes ago. If one didn’t know any better, they might say that Hikaru’s usually quiet tone was just a bit on the dry side… Gastro fished out his ball with a wry grin and no comment before stepping aside and letting Hikaru step up to her own ball with a putter. Gastro hooked their shared golf bag over his broad shoulder, preparing to move on as soon as Hikaru completed her shot. Which hopefully she completed in one shot. Hikaru took several more test swings this time. She forced her grip to be looser, and after almost a minute of lining up her shot Hikaru putted firmly towards her goal. It almost looked like she had hit it too hard again. But the ball lined straight up into the hole, not rolling over it, or bouncing out. Hikaru nodded satisfied at the shot, and turned to Gastro her stance almost saying ‘There, see? I did it.’ Gastro clapped for her just as he did for Jhelks, “Par 3! Good job! Keep that up Hikaru! No bogeys this game, alright?” Hikaru nodded firmly and then picked up her own ball and returning to her two green compatriots. She kept a hold of her putter still, and let Gastro gather their things. “Lead the way, brother,” Gastro said with a gesture for Jhelks to take said lead.
