The Rules Of Aftermath
Basic Rules
Basic Rules
1) Be Respectful, Civil and friendly. We expect everybody to treat each other with respect. Respect other peoples opinions even though they may not line up with your own views. You are expected to avoid conflict, refrain from insulting others and to act maturely. Purposely offending staff and other members will not be tolerated. Though we aren't against swearing, please pay attention to how other members feel about it. Try to make this forum a very welcoming place for everybody. Racism and discrimination are absolutely not accepted here. Nobody is above the rest, this goes for the structure of the site as well.
2) Keep the site PG-13. Though we're fully opened to and encourage very dramatic fight scenes that include detailed injuries with blood, we strongly want to avoid sexual content. This includes both pictures and in character actions, innocent nudity is acceptable. All sexual content must be continued off of the forums or have a fade to black ending.
3) When posting, you are expected to be logged into your proper account. When signing up, we expect your username to match the name of your character. This is to avoid confusion. If you have more than one character, you must create more than one account.
4) We are absolutely against plagiarism, we will NOT tolerate the creativity of another writers intelligence being stolen. This includes copying and pasting another members posts and claiming them as your own and this also applies to off-site posts as well. We also do not tolerate reusing posts from prior sites either, even if you are the writer of them. We expect every creative idea and post that you have for here, originate here. This doesn't mean you aren't allowed to use your previous used plots.
5) The intentional abuse of mechanics that are unintentionally overpowered/busted/broken will not be tolerated. When you do this you are essentially telling us you don't respect the site enough to relax and play fairly in a way that we all find fun and we just cannot have that. The first time you are caught doing this will lead to you being disqualified from the battle you are in and us voiding all gains you would have gotten from the thread. The scond time you'll recieve a temporary 1 week kick from the site and discord to reflect on why what you are doing is wrong, the third time you'll be permanently banned as at that point it becomes evident enough that you have zero respect for anyone on the site.
6) If you breach these rules or act out of hand, the staff team will review the case and determine punishment. This could include a simple discord punishment for a few days or a permanent ban from the site. This will all depend on the occurring offense and how frequently one has breached these rules.
In Character Rules
1) No Meta-Gaming. You will be expected not to Meta-Game. A good example of this would be knowing what other characters have done when your character wasn't present and using this to exploit their weaknesses. Your character only knows what he/she has witnessed and been present for, there are few exceptions.
(Far-Seeing Arts Technique, etc)
2) No GodModding. You will be expected to maintain your character as if they were beatable. You may not auto-hit your opponents or make their reactions by your choice. Your character can by no means do everything and beat everybody. They will receive damage and possibly even die. Though you can always react, you must do this within reason. Distance, skill, power level and more will play into this.
3) You will be expected to use only what your character has. You cannot use items and techniques that your character has not acquired.
4) You will respect other players roleplay style, each writer may have a style that differs from yours. We expect you respect that and let them continue as they see fit.
5) You may not kill another members character without their permission. Death of a character may only be permitted with owners consent or if the thread is stated to be a death enabled.
6) Any thread that has intent to alter a planet or location must be an open, Death enabled thread. Since it's a site-wide event, this will give everybody an opportunity to stop the attack. The attack will either be successful or stopped. If no parties enter the thread to prevent it within 48 hours, the attacker can proceed without resistance.
7) Currently, You're allowed to have up to five characters. Remember though, each and every one of them must have their own account on this board. Your characters are allowed to interact but will be counted as one. Example, you have two characters join the same thread. The multiperson bonus won't count both characters but only one. If both are alone in a thread together, it will be counted as a solo. In a fight scenario where both are against another player, fair play is expected.
Posting Rules
1) Gravity Chambers may be used in three threads a week. You're allowed to do two solo threads with gravity enhanced training and one with a group. This is to limit massive gains that could be caused by them. Gravity levels must start at 10% and go up from there. You will advance with increments of 10 per thread. Example, Your first gravity thread will be at 10% gravity, your second will be 20% and your third 30% and so on. The percentage of gravity your at is the bonus to your Power Level percentage.
2) At this moment in time, you're allowed to take part in as many threads as you can handle. Though we will highly frown upon you not being able to keep active in all of them. If you can't stay consistent with posting in three threads, don't join a fourth. This is to ensure that nobody else gets hung up waiting on somebody to post while that person is joining new threads.
4) Awakening operates on liquid time, this allows you to join multiple threads without worrying about fitting everything into a proper timeline. Though when a thread is created it will take place on the posted date unless a time skip occurs in said thread.
5) When posting you must include your current Power Level and any modifiers, your word count per post, and the total word count of all your combined posts.
Thread Types
1) Open Thread: An open thread is a straight forward thread that allows anybody to join at any time. Please be reasonable with this though, if a thread appears to be ending shortly try and find another thread to enter. Some threads can go on longer than expected and people in said thread could be hoping for a close.
2) Closed Thread: A closed thread is generally a private thread for an x amount of players. This type of thread usually is set up by two or more people or simply limited to a certain number of players. This type of thread can also be posted as an invite-only or ask to join. These are primarily best for those close character relationship builds or if two people want to roleplay without much distraction.
3) Death Enabled: A Death enabled thread is a thread that is a high-risk situation. In this thread, you do not have to give consent to have your character killed. If a player is capable of killing your character and decides to, you will have to deal with the consequences. These death enabled threads can come in the form of both an open and a closed thread. Death enabled should be clarified in the thread title. Example, "Wild Adventures[Open/Death Enabled]"
4) Saga Thread: A Saga thread is a thread that will contain a dramatic or special event. These threads will always be opened. These threads will be used for people to conquer planets, destroy locations and more. A player will have 48 hours to join these threads from the moment they're posted. A Saga thread will almost always be death enabled, though there are exceptions.
