The chatter of Katas Market had become odd to Hikaru. She had gotten so accustomed to the quieter Namekian villages since her time here. But even though it felt odd to her, it was a refreshing change of pace. She enjoyed the occasional visit down to the market for her groceries and other purchases. Speaking of those other purchases… Hikaru adjusted the straps on the gauntlet on her left arm. She flexed her fingers and checked to make sure it operated smoothly. The barrel moved seamlessly without catching. Then she stretched and moved her hands and arms, checking to see if it impeded her range of motion. Hikaru gave a small nod of satisfaction when everything seemed in order. Now she just needed to check how sturdy the equipment was. To see if it would stand up to actual combat… Hikaru slid back the covering and began loading the cartridges on both gauntlets. She inserted three of each type of ammunition into each of the gauntlets chambers, and then repeated her earlier motions checking how it felt with the additional weight. It felt heavy, but no worse than her training weights. She could actually compensate by switching out the weights on her arms… “Hm…” the human slipped a gloved hand into a pocket inside her coat and retrieved her wallet. Her latest purchases had burned her current finances. She made a mental note to come back later when she had earned more. Hikaru replaced her wallet and stood up from the bench she had been seated on. She made her way down the market paths. The grass was soft and springy under her booted feet. There was something soothing about Namek’s embrace of nature. So many civilizations had pulled away from nature in their quest for technological expansion and exploration. Hikaru tilted her head back and closed her eyes. She inhaled the clean air and basked in the warmth of the sun on her face. Wind blew softly, rustling the blue locks of her hair. With a soft sigh, Hikaru opened her red eyes, and gazed at the clear sky...

As much as he was used to seeing the windswept plains of Namek, one would think that Triton wouldn’t be too amazed by the usual barren planet’s landscape. This, however, was a totally different experience for the young Half Saiyan. The Katas Market was as noisy and distracting as any place on Earth, and to see so many Namekians gathering around, along with the scarce few interplanetary travelers that did make their way to the mostly peaceful planet, it made for quite the incredible sight. Triton wanted to buy something, perhaps more training gear for himself in light of the fact that he had gotten supremely lazy in past months, but he knew that he didn’t have the zeni needed for a purchase like that. His main focus was saving up so that he could get himself a capsule house of some kind, preferably one with enough space to train in instead of going out to the woods every time he wants some solitude. But those thoughts were mostly fancy at the moment, as he adjusted his heavy weights beneath his usual attire, a simple t shirt and rather noticeable jacket, black with longer sleeves rolled to the elbow and white fur around the collar, and a dark pair of jeans and nice boots that he found rather comfortable. The weights weren’t all that noticeable, being skin tight and worn beneath his clothing, but they were certainly causing him a bit of discomfort as he still wasn’t completely attuned to wearing them again. Feeling a mass amount of sensory overload in such a crowded space, he was hardly paying attention when he rather suddenly collided with someone else. Being somewhat clumsy at times and completely off guard, Triton stumbled backwards and immediately fell to his behind, tripping over himself and falling hard to the dirt below. As he rubbed his head, he shot up to a sitting position and looked to see who he had so rudely bumped into. Without even really looking at the person in question, he had already begun apologizing. “Ah, geez, that didn’t feel so good. Are you okay? I’m so sorry!” WC: 356 Wearing Heavy Weights PL: 12,100 - w/weights: 3,025

Hikaru felt someone crash into her suddenly in the busy pathway. She shifted and planted her foot behind her to avoid stumbling back. Unlike the other person. He fell completely backwards and on to his rear. Hikaru blinked down at the man as he jolted up right. He seemed truly alarmed, but in all honesty he had taken the hit harder than her. “I’m fine,” she leaned forward and held her gloved hand out to him to assist him back to his feet. When he was standing Hikaru looked him over, gently reading his ki. She could tell by his build and movements he was a fighter. His power level was above the average namekian warrior as well. He seemed an earnest fellow. Excitable. But not nearly to Peardian’s level. Hikaru also had to admit that he was quite handsome… hm. “Are you alright?” She cocked her head, blue hair falling in front of her red eyes slightly. The human doubted he had taken any actual injury, especially on the soft grassy namekian ground, but it seemed like the polite thing to say. Gastro had been drilling social niceties into her for a while now. So she tried to put those lessons into some sort of practice.

Triton was surprised, after he finally began to pay attention anyways, once he realized that the person he had so unceremoniously trucked into was a human woman. Of course, being at the biggest trading hub on Namek meant that anyone could have been there, but the Half Saiyan wasn’t quite used to seeing this new side of Namek. She wasn’t the tallest, but she was certainly stout and well built, and the scars that painted her body like an angry artist over a canvas told him that she was definitely a fighter. This encounter brought out a terrible conundrum in Triton and his mannerisms. On the one hand, he was apologetic and excited about meeting another fighter, being someone who put a lot of stock in his abilities. Plus, feeling out at her energy, she was noticeably strong, stronger than he was maybe. On the other hand, however, she was a girl, and Triton has never been able to keep composure around girls. Women were, perhaps, his one true weakness. Accepting her hand and pulling himself up, the young man dusted himself off and straightened his outfit, scratching at the back of his head and looking off to the side a bit as he started speaking. “Yeah, yeah I’m uhh.. I’m good. Glad you’re okay too. Be better if I died of embarrassment already...” That last part was said more under his breath, but she might have heard him. “Anyways,” looking back at her now, finally getting the blush on his face a bit more under control. “My name’s Triton. Sorry about all that. Didn’t expect to run into a human girl out here though. Much less a fighter. Nice to meetcha?” Triton smiled at the woman, albeit a bit sheepishly as he pushed his hair back out of his face again, attempting to look somewhat presentable and polite. WC: 309 TWC: 665

Hikaru cocked her head when Triton mumbled under his breath. She didn’t quite catch it, but didn’t deem it important enough to actually try and hear it. She wasn’t the nosy type. If it was important he would have said it properly, right? “Hikaru,” she responded to his introduction with a simple nod, “Nice to meet you.” Hikaru pocketed her hands in her long coat, the pockets deep enough that she could still manage comfortably even with her new gauntlets. She had made sure that each upgrade to her gear was compatible with her previous gear. Then, once acquired, she would train with the gear until it became an extension of her body. In fact, since she had finished her purchases here, she had planned to go train with her gauntlets… “There are more races on Namek than there once was,” Hikaru looked out at the market sprawling behind her, “It’s their welcoming nature…” “The same with fighters,” Hikaru looked back at Triton with a nod, “With more people comes more need to protect themselves.” Hikaru herself had actually become one of those protectors. She hadn’t intended to. She hadn’t intended a lot of things in her life right now. But… she was grateful for them. For the people and events that had somehow come to her and changed her life.

Triton nodded a bit as he listened to what the woman was saying. “Hikaru, huh? Okay then. Hikaru.” He would say to himself somewhat, making sure to commit her name to memory. The Half Saiyan crossed his arms a bit as she continued speaking about the state of the planet. It was certainly true that there were many different peoples on Namek these days, though most of them were confined to these spaceports and other places of interest. On the mentioning of the different warriors and protectors that have risen up in the wake of such interplanetary travels, Triton would nod once in affirmation. “Yeah, it’s definitely a lot more lively around here. The Namekian people have done a lot to keep places like Katas safe. A lot better than most would imagine, since a large part of the race aren’t fighters at all.” Triton would come off a lot more intelligently now than he had previously, as he did have extensive knowledge of the Namekian people and their culture... for the most part anyway. “There’s a lot more of them forming warrior clans along the... the caverns.” He would have paused as if trying to remember. “Yeah, the Dark Nameks cause a lot of trouble when they aren’t kept in check.” Triton would study her a bit further as he spoke. Hikaru was certainly rough and tumble, and he could tell by her relaxed nature that she was level headed. Something about being a fighter made it easy to spot qualities in other warriors, he noted, as he saw the way that she watched over the crowds, like an animal mother watching for potential threats. Brushing his wild hair from his face again, the Half Saiyan would put his hands in his pockets. “I’ve been trying to find a place for myself lately, anyways. The people can always use help, and after what happened a year ago I’ve still been slacking WAY too much. I’ve certainly gotten weaker because of it.” He would trail off at that, looking off into the distance a bit himself. WC: 346 TWC: 1,011

It seemed her fellow human, or so she thought, was knowledgeable of namek. At least on a basic level when he listed how the Namekian people weren’t typically fighters. And then he also mentioned the Warrior Clans and the Dark Clans in the caverns. Hikaru gave a small nod in approval that he seemed to have his facts straight. It wasn’t that she expected him to be ignorant, but she found it more common amongst newcomers to have the wrong idea of this beautiful planet and its people. Triton seemed to have collected himself after his mild embarrassment at how they had bumped into each other. Literally. She could tell he was measuring her. Triton probably could tell that she was a fighter, a warrior much like himself, just as easily as she had assessed him. “A year ago?” Hikaru murmured quietly, unsure what he was referring to. Could he have been referring to the botched World Martial Arts Tournament? Had he been there for that disaster? If he was, she felt much the same way. That wild saiya-jin that had appeared and destroyed everything had made short work of every fighter there. It had been all she and a few others could do just to protect the innocents and evacuate them to safety. His strength had been beyond anything she had ever seen. It was because of those events, in part, that made Hikaru focus more on her fundamentals and support skills, such as healing. There had been plenty of incredibly strong fighters who had taken the challenge to that monster, but there weren’t as many healers, and protectors that could weather that storm. Hikaru grew even more determined in studies of healing and toughening her body. If something like that happened again. She wanted to protect everyone. If something like that happened on Namek… An icy pain twisted her gut sharply. No. She wouldn't let that happen. Hikaru brought herself back to the conversation at hand, and nodded when Triton mentioned looking for a place for himself, “Tsuno’s Village.” “It’s a village where many warriors have congregated,” the human explained. If Triton wanted to get stronger, that would be the best place for him to go. He would find no shortage of training partners there.

Triton would have been somewhat oblivious to his previous statements so far, until Hikaru herself repeated the phrase that should have stuck out to him as well. One year ago... he wasn’t supposed to say anything about that, but it was too late now. It was obvious that she hadn’t remembered him though, so perhaps his plan to have stayed out of focus worked. He couldn’t be sure though so he decided to keep quiet on that for now. It wouldn’t do him any good to focus on that particular event any further. After hearing her final response however, Triton perked up a bit more. Any place with fighters settling in was far better than nothing, and maybe there were more of them here like her. If he had a place to really dig in his heels and get to work, he could likely regain a good portion of the strength he lost. “Tsuno’s Village, huh? If there’s people there that can help me then that’d be great! I’m barely able to reach into the power I used to have, and it takes me a lot more effort to do it too.” The Half Saiyan would pump his arm a bit, smiling at the woman. It was true that he could do somewhat of a semblance of his former glory, but it was a pale imitation that didn’t last long enough for him to do a whole lot. “I’d really like to go there if you’d be able to show me the way!” WC: 253 TWC: 1,264

"There are many people to train with. There's even a communal training area," Hikaru explained, Triton seemed quite enthused at the idea, but his next comment confused her, "...used to have?"
Had he lost his power, and if so, how? Had he been injured in the past and after a long rest period his body had degenerated? That was the only way Hikaru could think for a person to lose their strength. She believed the term was "use it or lose it" right?
Either way Triton certainly looked hale and healthy. If he had lost his power due to injury or illness that certainly didn't seem to be a problem any more. If anything he seemed to be itching for a chance to get back into the thick of things.
Hikaru nodded when Triton asked her to show him the way. She floated up several inches and then gestured to him, "Can you fly? Its not far by sky, but can be a journey on foot..."
If he couldn't fly, Hikaru wouldn't mind walking, perhaps he would even jog with her as a way to work their cardio together. He would probably take her up on the idea considering how gung ho he seemed to be to begin training. But if he wanted to get started sooner, than flying would definitely be more expediant.
Hikaru thought about introducing Triton to Sora and Jhelks. They were also excellent fighters and seemed to be aproximately Triton's level. She knew Sora would be ecstatic to meet another partner. Hikaru didn't quite know Jhelks well enough to determine how he would feel, but Hikaru figured he wouldn't mind meeting other warriors.
Yes, Triton wouldn't want for training partners that was definitely sure. Hadn't he mentioned he was also looking for a place? There were also several homes in Tsuno's village. He could easily find a place to stay. While there still is a sort of village 'rent' it was more encouraged for the community rather than mandatory. If he didn't have much Zenni, the village would easily work with him.
Hm, she thought back to her time with Mollau... her home wasn't much but if the man really needed help back on his feet, Hikaru could offer him to stay with her.

Triton was probably a bit too excited if he was being honest with himself, but it had been a really, really long time since he’d had an actual training partner of any kind and he’d been hurting for some time over it. He could tell that Hikaru was sizing him up in turn, same as he had earlier, which was only fair. It would make sense for someone to at least judge a stranger of their ability before taking them to such a place, especially if the person was found lacking. That didn’t seem to be the case however, as the next question that came out of her mouth seemed more earnest than testing. Much as he himself wouldn’t mind a trip by foot, he easily took to the the sky alongside Hikaru. “Flying is no problem at all. Just lead the way!” The young and over eager Half Saiyan would Val to his new friend, or at least he considered her friendly enough to slap the title on. His skin was just itching with an intense drive, and he couldn’t wait to actually put his training weights to good use for the first time in a long time. Triton wondered at the kind of people he would meet at this village, and if any of them were a race besides Namekian. It wasn’t likely that many of them were, and given the fact that he had already met one that wasn’t the chance felt slim. But even so, any warriors would do, so long as he could keep up with them. To satisfy his curiosity on the way there, Triton would voice his question. “So you said it’s a village where warriors are gathering? What kind of people do you guys have? The question was left open as more of a lure to get the blue haired girl to talk a little more, so that maybe Triton could figure her out a bit better. He was likely to be training with her soon, and he could tell that she was already making much farther along then he was these days. Trying to figure her out was definitely a key objective at the moment. WC: 365 TWC: 1629

Hikaru nodded when Triton hovered after her. That was good, she hadn't wanted to assume he could fly. She'd met several people who couldn't like her friend Gastro. So Hikaru floated up a few dozen feet into the air, then waved her arm for Triton to follow her, before taking off at a fairly decent clip. But she didn't fly so fast as to make it difficult to keep up, or speak over the wind. Which was good, since Triton seemed to have other questions.
"Well, it's a normal village. Warriors just happen to gather there," Hikaru responded quietly, but loud enough to be heard, "Mostly Namekians but there are others. There are enough non-namekians that they do have some crops and food. But you are better off shopping in Katas Market. Theres also a Tuffle factory in the village upstream."
The human wasn't sure what else to add about her home. She wasn't talkitive at the best of times, and struggled to offer additional information. What else was there to add about Tsuno's village? She mentally tried to compare it to some of the other villages and towns she had visited in her travels.
"There is an established healer, Mollau. He's my teacher and I assist him," Hikaru said, "He helps many injured warriors, brought in from harsh training sessions and bouts against the Dark Clan."
Hikaru paused trying to think of what more to add. Conversation could be strangely difficult for her. Luckily, she didn't need to struggle for too long, as Tsuno's village appeared on the horizon. She pointed towards the village ahead for Triton's benefit, "There."
Her home was a modest size. It may not match the metropolitan size of Katas Market, but it had a more than respectable population and smattering of homes. The Ajisa trees planted around the area were tall and proud. There were several homes stretching along the hills, and the rolling river that encircled Tsuno's village was clear and clean. Should Triton decide to settle here, he wouldn't want for much.
"Let's stop by my home first," Hikaru said by way of explanation as they entered the village limits, then she banked towards where her small capsule home sat a modest ways away for privacy.
Hikaru tapped down lightly on the grass and rolled her shoulders, feeling herself relax just a smidge, just to be home.

Triton followed only a slight distance behind Hikaru as the two of them soared through the clean air of Namek’s sky. Triton absolutely loved flying, and back on Earth st times it just wasn’t as pleasant. But here on Namek, it was just incredible. The air tasted pure and unsoiled, there was no smog or even heavy air, just clean wind and beautiful sun. Although, Triton noted, he could certainly use a good nighttime rest, as at times it was rather difficult to sleep with such blistering light shining down all hours of the day. The young Half Saiyan kept his mind steady despite these thoughts as he flew, keeping his ears on the conversation at hand. He was quite surprised that such a smaller settlement seemed to attract more of their type rather than a base stationed nearer Katas, but having a Namekian healer was probably a big help. Having so many outsiders stay there must make it a lot easier for new arrivals, which was exactly the problem he had been facing already. Having a place he could touch down at and keep around would be extremely helpful, and he was reckless enough that he needed a healer on hand to keep him steady. As the two of them drifted into the village, Triton continued to assess the surroundings as well as his new acquaintance. Hikaru was an odd woman so far as he could tell, as it didn’t seem as though she was much for social interactions but was definitely prepared to fight at any time. At the very least, he figured that she would likely make a good ally to side with the next time that something happened like last time, as he remembered how she recklessly threw herself into the fray to save the lives of others. She’s a hero who refuses the title, but maybe if he makes a place for himself here Triton can change her mind. He touches down beside her wordlessly, not having anything to add as of yet.
