Enyo laid upside down on the overly plush and indulgent office chair. Her legs were thrown over the back, and her head hung upside down off the seat. Her already disheveled mess of hair stood up even more now with the assistance of gravity. Her arms were flopped on the seat bonelessly. It was a ridiculous pose and entirely too Enyo.
“Boooooooooooooored,” the saiya-jin mutant drawled in a long and low tone.
Enyo was “on-call” for Carnelian today. As such she couldn’t go off to train/torture herself to a bloody pulp. Her boss-man might need her services, and she could hardly provide them if she was fucked up from training.
She had taken Lettuki’s last words a year ago to heart. Maybe too at heart. Enyo had trained damn near religiously since he had left her. Some stupid part of her felt that maybe if she worked hard enough, reached some arbitrary level of strength, then Lettuki would come back…
But if that were true, she hadn’t hit it yet.
So all she could do was just keep going. Do her work for Carnelian, and train when she wasn’t doing that. It was dreadfully dull and left Enyo feeling pent up and frustrated. Yeah, there were… other methods of stress relief. But there had hardly been any interesting candidates here on Frost. And the few that had come around had already gone. Leading her back to being bored. (and lonely).
Enyo’s tail flicked in irritation. It was a subtle twitch of the tip. It was a very cat-like gesture. Sometimes Enyo seemed more feline than ape. But there was no doubt of her nature when the moon rose. Not that she had to worry about that here on Frost.
“I’m so booooooorrrrred,” Enyo repeated again obnoxiously and this time punctuated it with a few light kicks of her feet. Maybe if she whined enough, a job would magically come for her. Something interesting would happen. Or Carnelian would decide to let her go and she could go back to training.
Training…
Enyo didn’t know what to do about that. She felt like she was stagnating. Her level had hit a plateau, and it was frustrating as all get out. She needed something more. Weights, gravity, a partner. Something! She’d reached the limit of what she could do on her own.
More than once she had the idea to maybe just fucking attack some outpost our patrol of PTO grunts to liven things up. But then she’d refrain, because it would be better to keep a low profile for Carnelian’s needs. Enyo was a rather unique individual. Anyone who survived or caught wind of her attacking would know who she was. And then the PTO would be breathing down Carnelian’s neck for having her in his employ. It would blow up in his face and really put a wrench in his political plans.
So Enyo had been a good girl, and only attacked things on Carnelian’s orders according to his strategy.
But Enyo was never very good about being… well, good.
Enyo’s half-lidded gaze stared at the opposite wall as she pondered what to do. Maybe she should go find that little geck tech of Carnelian’s. She’d be fun to play with. But, ehh… maybe not. Damn, Enyo wished she had someone to spar with. Pfft, and that geck was DEFINITELY not up to it.
She was so bored she even wished that weird old guy from Earth was here, with his long winded musings and weird enthusiasm. He was bizarre but he wasn’t boring. That's for sure.
Enyo slithered out of her seat, becoming a crumpled puddle on the floor before standing up and trotting over to the huge floor to ceiling glass windows that looked out over the financial district of the city. The skyline was filled with jutting spires and skyscrapers of various shapes and sizes. Each one carried different businesses and lives that ran the machine that was the Planet Trade Organisation.
The sun had drifted just past dusk, and lights were flickering on throughout the entire city. The pinpoints of light in the furthest distance looked like small artificial stars, just below the actual stars in the sky, peeking through the dusky haze.
Somewhere out there in that vast space was Lettuki...
